You are not alone. I've been here for some months (even submitted a DIY project which probably will mean more to UK members than Americans - I guess their wood is cheaper than ours).
I've been stuck on Gorilla glue for several years but struggle to find it in retail outlets. The sources I've discovered are all on-line with a little help from Google. There doesn't seem to be a UK source of their tape and superglue products tho - unless you know better.
I did try one of the building industry PU glues in a cartridge like silicon filler, but it was pants and went of in the tube once opened, so it's back to Gorilla.
