Materials Needed:

Gorilla Glue™ Precision Glue
Gorilla Glue™ Super Glue
Gorilla Tape™ Handy 1” roll
Suitcase (approx 6” X 16” X 11”)
Foam core board to fit top and bottom of case
Assorted stickers – special sayings and lettering
Deco Art® Americana® Acrylic Paint – Snow White & Emperor Gold
Pre-cut mats to fit copy of diplomas, photos, etc.
School pennants, photos, invitations, copy of diplomas, tassel, awards
Waxed paper
Large gold button with shank
Luggage tag
Assorted ribbons and yarns
Wooden letters for name

Note: When using Gorilla Glue on paper, it is very important to wet the top of the glue dots, but not the paper. A Q-tip or skewer is helpful.

Instructions:

1. Paint inside sides of suitcase white, then gold or appropriate color.

2. Cut foam core board to fit top and bottom of inside of case. Use Gorilla Precision Glue to glue it in. Be sure to weight with something heavy while it is drying.

3. Frame documents and photos with pre-cut mats in school colors.

4. Use Gorilla tape to secure the above to each other on the back side.

5. Glue some of the flat objects to foam core board.

6. Add dimension to objects that you want to stand out by applying Gorilla Glue to back side of object near corners. Spread a piece of waxed paper on a flat surface and spritz it with water.

7. Place object, glue side down, on waxed paper. Do not weight it down. The glue will expand and the waxed paper will peal off when the glue is set. If the first application doesn’t give enough lift, apply a second round of glue.

Note: Sometimes if your lifted object overlaps another, you may need more glue on the parts that don’t overlap, so that the object will lie flat.

8. Add stickers – If the stickers don’t have a stiff backing, first glue them to cardboard with regular glue, then apply the Gorilla Glue "lift" on the back of the cardboard.

9. The top end of the tassel cord can be pulled through the shank of a gold button and glued inside the suitcase.

10. Paint letters gold and, using super glue, glue them to the top of the suitcase.

11. Luggage tag - Use letter stickers to write "The Journey Begins" and tie the tag to the suitcase handle with an assortment of ribbons and yarns.
