Your Questions. Answered.
A: The full DIY garage floor coating project typically takes 2 to 3 days from start to finish. This includes concrete preparation, coating application, and curing time. Depending on weather conditions and temperature, you'll be able to walk on the floor in about 10 hours and drive on it in 24-36 hours after applying the coating.
A: Cracked or damaged concrete should be repaired before applying the coating. The coating is not designed to fill in cracks, divots, or level uneven surfaces.
A: Each Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit includes a Concrete Etch to prepare the surface, and Part A Epoxy Resin, Part B Epoxy Hardener, Decorative Flakes, Roller Cover(s), Mixing Bucket(s), and Stir Stick(s) for the coating application. Choose from 1-car or 2.5-car kits based on your garage size.
A: The kit includes all core materials for your floor coating, but you'll need a few additional supplies to complete the project, including:

Broom
Pressure Washer or Hose with High-Pressure Spray Nozzle
Stiff Bristled Scrub Brush & Extension Pole
3-to 5-Gallon Water Bucket
Squeegee
Protective Gloves & Eyewear
Application:
3" Paintbrush
Roller Frame & Extension Pole
Paint Tray & Liners
Painter's Tape
Protective Gloves & Eyewear
A: Apply the coating when the air and surface temperature are between 50°F and 90°F. If the temperature exceeds 90°F, the working time to apply the epoxy will decrease, meaning you’ll need to apply it more quickly. If the temperature is below 50°F, the cure time of the coating will increase.
A: Absolutely! Oil leaks won’t penetrate the coating and result in stains like on uncoated concrete. Leaks or spills can be easily cleaned by wiping them off.
A: The best time of year to apply the Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit depends on your area, but Spring and early Fall are typically good times. The ideal conditions are when the air temperature is consistently between 50°F and 90°F and no rain is expected.
A: The mixing ratio for Parts A and B is 1:1. If desired, they can be mixed in smaller quantities to extend the working time. For example, you can mix 8 oz. of Part A with 8 oz. of Part B in a smaller mixing cup to trim the edges before mixing the remaining material in each bottle to coat the rest of the floor. IMPORTANT: If mixing smaller quantities, follow the same steps included in the instructions and vigorously mix the components for at least 5 MINUTES before applying.
