Ratings & Reviews

Your Questions, Answered

What comes in the Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit?

Each Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit includes a Concrete Etch to prepare the surface, and Part A Epoxy Resin, Part B Epoxy Hardener, Decorative Flakes, Roller Cover(s), Mixing Bucket(s), and Stir Stick(s) for the coating application. Choose from 1-car or 2.5-car kits based on your garage size.

Can I apply the Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit on cracked or damaged concrete?

Cracked or damaged concrete should be repaired before applying the coating. The coating is not designed to fill in cracks, divots, or level uneven surfaces.

How long does it take to apply the Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit?

The full DIY garage floor coating project typically takes 2 to 3 days from start to finish. This includes concrete preparation, coating application, and curing time. Depending on weather conditions and temperature, you'll be able to walk on the floor in about 10 hours and drive on it in 24-36 hours after applying the coating.

Does the Gorilla Garage Floor Coating Kit include all the tools I need?

The kit includes all core materials for your floor coating, but you'll need a few additional supplies to complete the project, including:‍Cleaning/Prep:‍Broom Pressure Washer or Hose with High-Pressure Spray Nozzle Stiff Bristled Scrub Brush & Extension Pole 3-to 5-Gallon Water Bucket Squeegee Protective Gloves & Eyewear‍Application:‍3" Paintbrush Roller Frame & Extension Pole Paint Tray & Liners Painter's Tape Protective Gloves & Eyewear

What is the best temperature to apply Gorilla Garage Floor Coating?

Apply the coating when the air and surface temperature are between 50°F and 90°F. If the temperature exceeds 90°F, the working time to apply the epoxy will decrease. If the temperature is below 50°F, the cure time of the coating will increase.

How can I extend the working time for applying the epoxy to my floor?

The mixing ratio for Parts A and B is 1:1. If desired, they can be mixed in smaller quantities to extend the working time. For example, you can mix 8 oz. of Part A with 8 oz. of Part B to trim the edges before mixing the remaining material. IMPORTANT: If mixing smaller quantities, follow the same instructions and vigorously mix the components for at least 5 MINUTES before applying.

What's the best time of year to apply an epoxy floor coating?

The best time of year depends on your area, but Spring and early Fall are typically good times. The ideal conditions are when the air temperature is consistently between 50°F and 90°F and no rain is expected.

Will the epoxy coating help with oil stains and make cleaning easier?

Absolutely! Oil leaks won't penetrate the coating and result in stains like on uncoated concrete. Leaks or spills can be easily cleaned by wiping them off.
